Red Wiggler Community Farm

VOLUNTEERING
We create fertile ground to nourish a healthy and inclusive community.
We begin by building up the health of our soil while practicing sustainable agricultural methods.
We invite you to be a part of our mission.

Volunteers are integral building blocks to the Red Wiggler Community Farm
• just as compost and organic material adds to the soil
• just as providing meaningful jobs for adults with developmental disabilities adds to independence and inclusion
• just as Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) supplies nutritious, fresh, healthy produce to families while supporting local agriculture and land preservation efforts.

These building blocks connect people to their food supply and the land, and are in turn connected with their communities through farm visits, volunteering, CSA, farm markets, produce sold to local restaurants, and Special Events at the Red Wiggler Community Farm.

The Red Wiggler Community Farm relies upon volunteer labor to help in transplanting, planting, weeding, mulching, and harvesting to further our mission of creating fertile ground to nourish a healthy and inclusive community. Our programs reach out to both employing adults with developmental disabilities and educating youth volunteers on Environmental Stewardship and Chesapeake Bay issues. We encourage both adult individuals and youth to come help out on the farm. We offer Service Learning opportunities for students who are interested in our farm programs. We accept both individual volunteers and group volunteers. We also encourage our CSA members and their families to come out.
